Expression pattern
PMA2 is a plasma membrane ATPase with negligable expression under all conditions, as compared to the PMA1 isoform. Both isoforms increase in expression under respiratory metabolism, in comparison to fermentative. In diauxic growth PMA2 also increases in expression during the transition to stationary phase after ethanol depletion. The authors suggest that the PMA2 isoform may play a role in metabolism during carbon starvation. [5] [6]
