Description of YPR068C: Class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) family member that deacetylates Smc3p on lysine residues at anaphase onset; has sequence similarity to Hda1p, Rpd3p, Hos2p, and Hos3p; interacts with the Tup1p-Ssn6p corepressor complex[1][2][3][4][5]

Protein Details

Protein Function/Process

In Robyr et al (2002), antibodies to specific acetyl forms of histones were used to find regions of the genome that increased in acetylation when certain histone deacetylases were deleted. Deletion of Hos1 resulted in increased acetylation primarily at the rDNA repeats. [3] [6]
