Description of YJL210W: RING-finger peroxin and E3 ubiquitin ligase, peroxisomal membrane protein with a C-terminal zinc-binding RING domain, forms translocation subcomplex with Pex10p and Pex12p which functions in peroxisomal matrix protein import[1][2][3]

Other Topic: Homology

Homology was found, at the sequence and domain-composition level, between several components of the Peroxisomal protein import machinery and components of the Endoplasmic Reticulum Associated Decay (ERAD) pathway. This suggests a common evolutionary origin for both systems and a similar mechanism of action. The homology relationships can be stablished between Pex1,Pex6 and cdc48; Pex2 and Hrd1; Pex4 and Ubc1; and Pex5 and Hrd3. [4] [5]
