Systematic name | YGL209W |
Gene name | MIG2 |
Aliases | MLZ1 |
Feature type | ORF, Verified |
Coordinates | Chr VII:95858..97006 |
Primary SGDID | S000003177 |
Description of YGL209W: Zinc finger transcriptional repressor; cooperates with Mig1p in glucose-induced repression of many genes including SUC2 (invertase); binds to Mig1p-binding sites in SUC2 promoter; under low glucose conditions Mig2p relocalizes to mitochondrion, where it regulates morphology, interacts with Ups1p and antagonizes mitochondrial fission factor, Dnm1p, indicative of a role in promoting mitochondrial fusion or regulating morphology[1][2]
