November 5, 2001

  • SGD added links to the AmiGO Gene Ontology browser from the GO term report pages showing all of the S. cerevisiae genes annotated to the term. With AmiGO, you can see what genes from other organisms have been annotated to the same term.

November 5, 2001

  • Three new expression data sets 1) Genomic expression responses to DNA-damaging agents (Gasch et al.) 2) Expression in response to varying zinc levels (Lyons, et al.), and 3) Expression regulated by the PHO pathway (Ogawa et al.) were added to Expression Connection. These datasets can be accessed via the "Expression Connection" link or from the "Functional Analysis" pull-down menu of each locus page.

September 12, 2001

  • SGD added a link to the Yeast Microarray Global Viewer from its locus pages.

September 11, 2001

  • SGD added a new DNA retrieval option from the locus page; you can now retrieve DNA for a particular gene plus 1000 bp up and downstream.

August 2, 2001

  • SGD added the Gene Ontology (GO) report, which lists all the GO terms used in annotation of a given cluster of genes as well as the frequency that each term is used both in the cluster and in the genome.

July 10, 2001

  • SGD has unveiled a new interface for the protein composition information provided by YPD at Proteome/Incyte.

July 9, 2001

  • SGD has added several new features to its Yeast Labs page. The Yeast Labs page now displays contact information, links to web pages, gene names and keywords as provided by yeast Principal Investigators. Using the search option, users can now conveniently query the list based on several search topics.

June 21, 2001

  • SGD now provides a quick search option on all of its pages so that users can conveniently search the most commonly queried information in the database.

June 20, 2001

  • SGD added a new feature to its yeast literature page; a list of all the curated papers that described some sort of genome-wide analysis are displayed. The yeast literature page is no longer available. This link can now be found on the Search Literature section of the Search Options contents page. (November, 2002)

June 20, 2001

  • SGD added a new feature to its paper display. SGD now provides a link to relevant web supplements for a given paper.

March 2, 2001

  • SGD has migrated reference data to the Oracle database and developed new user interfaces for displaying references and the Literature Guide (formerly Gene Info) tool.

February 26, 2001

  • The SGD Resource Guide organizes SGD resources by topic, and compares and contrasts similar resources so that you can quickly find just the right tool for the task at hand. This page is no longer available. It has been replaced by the Site Map. (November, 2002)

  • In response to numerous requests for pictures of yeast, we now have a page of Yeast Images as part of the General Yeast Topics page (found under the link for Yeast WWW Sites on the home page). These pictures have been generously provided by members of the yeast community and are available for public use. If you have images you would be willing to make contribute to the collection, please contact us. The Yeast WWW Sites page is no longer available. The link to the General Yeast Topics page can now be found under the External Links category as well as on the toolbar. (November, 2002).

  • The complete set of results from the yeast deletion project is now available at SGD. The results of the work by the international deletion project consortium were submitted to SGD. Each gene that has been deleted has its systematic deletion phenotype (viable/inviable) displayed on its locus page. In addition, SGD has implemented a new navigation bar to assist users in viewing long lists of phenotypes and other similar types of data.
