Description of YFL022C: Alpha subunit of cytoplasmic phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase, forms a tetramer with Frs1p to form active enzyme; evolutionarily distant from mitochondrial phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase based on protein sequence, but substrate binding is similar[1][2]
