Description of YPL094C: Essential subunit of Sec63 complex (Sec63p, Sec62p, Sec66p and Sec72p); with Sec61 complex, Kar2p/BiP and Lhs1p forms a channel competent for SRP-dependent and post-translational SRP-independent protein targeting and import into the ER[1][2][3]

DNA and RNA Details

Transcription Start

Transcription start(s): 369837,370712 Transcription starts at co-ordinate 370694 or 370695 [2] [4]

Interactions

Two Hybrid

Two Hybrid interaction with SEC63
Amino terminal domain of Sec62p (residues 1-149) interacts with c-terminal 39 residues of Sec63p [2] [4]

Protein Details

Mature Length (direct evidence)

Protein length: 274 aa The authentic translation start occurs at the AUG codon located at co-ordinate 370658 and not at the cryptic AUG located 27bp upstream (370685). The primary translation product is thus 274 amino acid residues in length and not 283 as previously supposed. [2] [4]
