The mitochondrial membrane protein Sls1p suppresses the petite phenotype of mtRNA polymerase (Rpo41p) amino-terminal domain and a mtf2/nam1 null mutations, indicating that transcription and tranlation of mtDNA-encoded genes occurs coordinately at the inner mitochondrial membrane. [1] [4]
