Description of YIR019C: GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein (flocculin) required for pseudohyphal formation, invasive growth, flocculation, and biofilms; transcriptionally regulated by the MAPK pathway (via Ste12p and Tec1p) and the cAMP pathway (via Flo8p)[1][2][3][4]

Alleles, Strains, and Phenotypes
Multiple Knockout Strains
Strain Background: Sigma1278b (Sigma2000 series)
Genotype: MCY4618
Together with: REG1, SIP1, GAL83, SIP2
Phenotype(s): Loss of function (Null), FLO11/MUC1 promoter substituted with S.p.Adh+ promoter
Deletion of REG1 in cells where FLO11/MUC1 expression is clamped (by substitution of the FLO11 promoter with the S.pombe Adh+promoter) causes an increase in invasion. [5] [6]
Strain Background: Sigma1278b (Sigma2000 series)
Genotype: MCY4469
Together with: REG1, SIP1, GAL83, SIP2
Phenotype(s): Loss of function (Null)
Deletion of FLO11/MUC1 suppresses reg1's constitutive invasion phenotype, but not its constitutive filamentous phenotype. [5] [6]
